Tim Brown’s talk at 2008 Serious Play Conference

Learning how to unleash your creativity is what many people are currently seeking for now.

In the video below, Tim had discussed the difference between the freedom we once had when we were young and the restriction and edition we now do when we grow up.

Not only has we lost the freedom we once owned, we also lost the playfulness within us, turning us into serious, zombie-like walking adults of social and many other restrictions which we placed on us.

In fact, there is a great relationship between one's creativity and one playfulness. Actually it all makes sense, doesn't it?

When you are playful and having fun, you let down your guard and allow yourself to think freely and openly. No longer are you concern about what others think or feel about you. You talk openly, think creativity and feel freely.

When you play, you eliminate the fear of being judged by others and need to conform yourself to the opinions of those whom you deem as authority figures, e.g your bosses, your clients etc.

In fact, there is a correlation between emotion and creativity. When you feel restricted and closed, your mind is automatically shut down to new ideas. On the other hand, when you are feeling mischievous, your mind will switch itself to whatever emotions you are currently experiencing.

And the good news is, you have 100% control over your own emotions. You, not the people or circumstances around you determine what you should feel. Change the way you feel you will change the way you think, creativity of course!

This Is Soooooo Shameful!!

The Chinese in China are really innovative and creative. However, that innovative and creative skills of theirs are often are used in the wrong areas. Instead of using their creative minds to bring improvement to the lives of others, they certainly seem to know how to bring miseries into others.

Up to a certain extent, I am even ashamed to be a Chinese. We Singaporeans are already given the nickname "kaisu". However, comparing ourselves to the Chinese in China, they are really far, far ahead of us.

In China, there was this incident where the customers in Pizza Hut were only allowed one serving of the salad. And you know what? The Chinese in China are really innovative and creative! I really have to take my hat off them. For their creative, guts and lack of shamefulness...

Take a look at how the Chinese bend this rule!

A usual one serving salad

Now comes the main show... First the Base

Next comes the 2nd level

Moving on next to the 3rd level

Erm... 4th? 5th? 6th? Sorry.... Lost count...

Guess what? A single serving for 11 people!

Let feast on a grander masterpiece

Now I really wonder why the employees of that particular franchise of Pizza Hut is allowing that to happen?

However, thinking back, the staff of that particular Pizza Hut are just employees after all. No use in arguing with the public over a salad right? After all, regardless if they approach or do not approach the customers, they still take their salary...

I really, really, really pity that particular Pizza Hut franchise owner... May God bless you...

Creative McDonald's Billboard‏

The giant egg billboard starts cracking and opening up in the wee hours of morning. By breakfast time, the egg has already hatched, and you can see ' Fresh Eggs Daily ' written on the egg ' s yolk.

The egg stays open from 6:00AM till 10:30AM, to indicate the availability of fresh eggs during that time. Once the breakfast time is finished, the egg billboard shuts and stays closed as a whole egg till the next morning.

Quite creative!
